The Town of Hampstead does not have electoral districts. The municipal council is made up of seven seats: one for the Mayor and six for Councillors.

To help ensure the smooth running of the municipal election, we are seeking community members to join our election team. Several positions are available for Election Day on November 2. Personnel is also required for the Board of Revision, which will take place during the month of October.

To be a domiciled elector entitled to vote, you must :

To be a non-domiciled elector eligible to vote, you must :
Non-domiciled persons, sole owners of an immovable or sole occupants of a business establishment located on the territory of the municipality, must submit the form provided by the municipality requesting that their name be added to the list of electors.
Non-domiciled persons, co-owners of an immovable or co-occupants of a business establishment, must designate from among themselves, by means of a power of attorney sent to the municipality, only one person who may be entered on the list of electors and transmit the form provided by the municipality requesting that this person’s name be added to the list of electors.

At the beginning of October you will receive a notice identifying all the electors entered on the electoral list at your address. If you are not entered on the electoral list, or if you notice an error, you may make an application for entry, striking or correction before the board of revisors.
In the case of an application for entry concerning a person domiciled in the territory of the municipality, the applicant must indicate the former address of the domicile of the person whose entry is requested and must present two documents, one of which indicates the name and date of birth, and the other the name and address of the domicile of the person whose entry is requested.
The list of electors will be available for consultation and the applications for entry (domiciled electors only), striking, or correction may be submitted to the Board of Revisors at the dates and at the place indicated under the section Important dates.

Mobile voting will be held by appointment only (date to be confirmed), according to the schedule determined by the Returning Officer.
Advance polling
Advance polling will take place on Sunday, October 26, 2025. You may present yourself between noon and 8 p.m. at the Irving L. Adessky Community Centre, 30 Rue Lyncroft, Hampstead, Qc, H3X 3E5.
All electors who are registered on the electoral list may participate in the advance polling.
Election Day
The general election will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2025. You may present yourself between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the polling place indicated on the reminder card that you will receive in the mail.

The results will be announced by the Election Returning Officer on the evening of November 2, 2025. They will also be posted on the Town’s website and shared on our official Facebook page.

The Board of Revisors is responsible for handling requests to add, correct, or remove names from the electoral list. If your name is missing or if any information is incorrect, you can submit a request during the revision periods on October 14 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and October 16 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Irving L. Adessky Community Centre.
